The incumbent performs general financial accounting functions, maintains accounting records and other related duties in daily administration of accounting. The incumbent also performs accounting activities in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
This position is based in Kingston, Jamaica.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains general ledger, including preparing journal entries, and entry to the accounting system and accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, setting up new accounts.
Ensure all accounting records are adequately sorted, filed and stored.
Ensure monthly account schedules are prepared and reconciled to the general ledger and financial package submitted to the Managing Director for review.
Review invoice batch listings and update system.
Quarterly reviews/workshops with Supervisors to enhance cost awareness and review variance.
Recommends department controls.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements to include monthly balance sheet, income statement, budget variances and cash flow for review by the Managing Director
Updates records for fixed assets and all other financial documents as necessary.
Assist external auditors at year-end including preparation of audit schedules and explaining supporting materials and procedures.
Initiates modifications/enhancements to computerized systems for accounting and management data.
